SKENA UP Festival has a long and rich history of collaboration with filmmakers from the American Film Institute (AFI), named in 2011 by The Hollywood Reporter as the #1 Film School in the world.  Each year, SKENA UP not only showcases the latest award winning AFI shorts, but also presents guest filmmaking workshops with notable AFI faculty and alumni. 

For the 2012 edition of SKENA UP, the Guest Filmmaker Workshop will address the producing side of movie-making.  Led by Los Angeles based movie producer and AFI alum, Brian Udovich, the workshop will introduce filmmakers to the basics of what a producer does and explore the fundamentals of getting a movie financed and made.

As film funding becomes more available to Kosovar filmmakers for feature length movies, the abilities to pitch, or articulate, a film concept to financiers, to understand an audience and identify a market for the film are all paramount to successfully packaging and funding a movie.
