8th SKENA UP International Students Film and Theatre Festival 3-10. December 2010 SKENA UP is calling film and theatre students from all around the world to submit their films or theatre performances for the 8th edition of the festival which will be held from 3-10 December in the capital of Kosovo, Prishtina. Founded in October 2003 by a group of students and young artists, SKENA UP is the NGO that organizes the International Students’ Film and Theatre Festival in Kosovo. SKENA UP Festival is unique not only in Balkans, but also in the wider Europe, by being one of the few ‘in competition’ festivals dedicated to film and theatre students. Having started as a humble national festival in 2003, SKENA UP Festival has in time assumed an international character, becoming one of the most important and biggest cultural events in Kosovo, bringing around 40 film and theatre academies from all around the world. In 2009 over 10,000 viewers saw its 105 films and 15 plays. SKENA UP also has in its program lectures and workshops, last year we were honored with a presence of Katriel Schory, Nik Powell, Pavel Jech, Robert Primes, Jacques Achoti, Arta Dobroshi, Jerry Coyle, Arno Aschauer etc. We accept films (fiction, documentary, animation) no longer than 30 min. Films must be a production of a film schools, the same for theatre performances. The year of production (film or theatre piece) must be 2009-2010.
